Shawl in a Ball – Openwork – lunar tides — February 18, 2018

Shawl in a Ball – Openwork – lunar tides

Since the last shawl in a ball was so quick, I decided to try another one. This time I tried the Openwork shawl. Instead of using an actual Shawl in a Ball skein of yarn, I decided to use some yarn I got at AC Moore. I bought some lunar tides in lt blue/purple, green/lime, pink/peach, and multi/cool. I used a L hook since the yarn is bulky, machine washable and able to be tumbled dry. The final size is about 20″ x 60″.

As with the other Shawl in a Ball pattern, I would definitely do this one again. Since it’s quick and looks awesome, the possible combinations are endless.

Shawl in a Ball – Sparkle — February 9, 2018

Shawl in a Ball – Sparkle

I decided to work with a skein of Lion Brand’s Shawl in a Ball today. I used one of their patterns – Sparkle Shawl. The pattern was really easy and worked up in a day. Using the Shawl in the Ball is the way to go if you need shawls quickly.

For this pattern, I used Restful Rainbow for the color. My Shawl is about 20″ x 50″. I used a H size hook. I would definitely do this pattern again.
